James T. Theodore started in the construction business in 1976 working for landlords renovating and maintaining apartments in the Manchester NH area. In 1979 he started a carpentry subcontracting company, J.T. Theodore Incorporated, and soon specialized in finish carpentry cabinetry and Commercial interiors (see Building and Custom Carpentry link).

While building his business and reputation within the construction industry Jim then went back to the real estate market as a landlord investing in residential rental properties in the mid 1980’s in New Hampshire. With ties to the Killington VT ski area as a professional skier and former US Ski team Coach he expanded into the Rutland Vermont area acquiring several rental properties and began doing business as JTT Properties.
